Dr. Vlashi earned her PhD from the Department of Chemistry at Purdue University, in Indiana. The focus of her research at Purdue University was aimed at the characterization of in vivo trafficking and dynamic accumulation of targeted cancer drugs in solid tumors. She joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCLA for her post-doctoral training, gaining expertize in the field of cancer stem cells and radiation therapy, and returned to the department as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in 2012.
Dr. Vlashi’s Research Interests
Dr. Vlashi is interested in characterizing and exploiting unique metabolic requirements of cancer stem cells in various solid tumor models in the context of radiation therapy.
